It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Bern Morrissey announce his peaceful passing at home on Monday, October 16, 2023 at the age of 70 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Marie, daughter Laurinda (Don), son Shannon; grandchildren Aaron (Alyssa) and Mikayla (Justin); great grandson Kane; six brothers, two sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends.

Predeceased by his parents Leo and Bride Morrissey and sister.

Bern was a long-time employee of Atlantic Ready Mix, where, for 42 years he enjoyed his work as a Pump Truck driver. He took much pride in being the driver of the Cement Truck for Corner Brook’s annual Santa Clause Parade. He made many friends and earned the respect of his fellow workers with his “Old School” work ethic and his quick wit to always make you laugh! 

Visitation for family and friends will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Wednesday, October 18^th from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 20th at 2:00 P.M. from Fillatre's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Linda Budden officiating. Interment to take place at a later date in Sop's Arm.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit in memory of Bern Morrissey.
