Obituary of Chesley Guy Pittman
Chesley Guy Pittman
Stephenville, NL
August 31, 1933 – October 26, 2023
After a wonderful and full life at the age of 90 Chesley Guy Pittman was called by his Angels to rest. Chesley was surrounded by his family at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL.
Chesley was a kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. Chesley was a man with a huge heart and would never refuse to help anyone in need. He put the needs of his family and friends before his own. He was an inspiration and great strength for his wife, children and friends. Chesley would welcome anyone into his home and loved everyone equally and unconditionally. For those who knew him, Chesley was a charismatic and very friendly soul. He was a hard-working family man who started working at the age of 16 in Stephenville, NL to almost 30 plus years in the trucking industry. He was happiest when he could lend a hand and enjoyed his traditional folk music as he played the spoons for his family and friends.
Chesley will be remembered by his beautiful and loving wife of 66 years, Irene Gladys Pittman and their five children: Debbie (Terry), Barbie, Bronson (Brenda), Sandra (Matt), Chesley Blair (Samantha); brothers: Roy (Nancy), David (Yvonne), Max (Nellie); sisters: Marjorie (Boris), Barbara (Churchill); sisters-in-law: Faye (Gord) & Doris; 14 grandchildren: Kyle, Brandon, Kassandra, Amber, Taylor, Cody, Bradley, Shawna, Derrick, Braydon, Chesley, Veronica, Hailey, Braxton, Tyrel; 5 great-grandchildren: Colton, Declan, Madden, Luke, Athena.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, father Walter & mother Mary- step-mom Hilda; mother-in-law Laura and father-in-law Azariah; brothers: Sidney (Lillian), Augustus (Lillian), Myrtle (Hector), Roland (Anita), Stan (Hilda), Freddy and John, brothers-in-law Dick (Maisie), Gord, Howard.
With great thanks to those who have cared for Chesley. With sincere thanks to many especially to Sharron Moore, Aunt Julia and Lori Alexander (his angel) for their unprecedented care and unconditional love.
