Evangeline was a gentle, kind woman who loved her family dearly. She married at the young age of 16 and together with her husband Albert raised a family of 5 children while she worked a full time job with Canada Post. She loved her job as Postmistress in River of Ponds and retired in 2001 with over 41 years of Service. Evangeline loved socializing with her friends and family, especially playing cards and bingo. She enjoyed knitting and baking delicious pies and squares which were well known for their goodness. They were well loved throughout the family circle. These latter years had been rough on Evangeline while she battled dementia but her strength, spirit and love shone through. Her smile would light up the room. She was a lady of many talents. She loved to sing and dance while music provided a comfort. She dearly enjoyed every day.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff of The John M. Gray Center for their kindness, compassion and care of our Mom during her stay there for the last 4 years.
