With broken hearts, the family of Patrick James Reardon announce his passing on November 7, 2023 at the Health Sciences Center in St. John’s, NL at the age of 77 years old.

Pat was born in Halifax, NS on April 14, 1946 to Michael and Clothilda Reardon of Tilting, Fogo Island and moved to Stephenville, NL where he was raised the oldest of 14 children.  Pat moved to Corner Brook in 1968 to start a 48-year career with Harvey and Company Ltd.  He met his wife Maxine that same year and together they built a life with their only child, Tracey.

Pat was known for his quick wit and jokes.  He loved to make people smile whether it was his granddaughter, a neighbour, or a customer. He especially loved children and making them laugh with silly stories and corny jokes. 

During his years at Harvey’s, Pat befriended many of his customers.  As a testament to the kind of person he was, he attended their weddings, funerals and held those relationships into his retirement.

Pat was predeceased by his parents Michael and Clothilda Reardon; parent in-laws Max and Betty Parsons; siblings Liz Ricca (John), Mike Reardon; brothers-in-law Maurice Dodge, Pete Carrigan, and sister-in-law Jessie Tierney.

Leaving to mourn with many wonderful memories are his wife Maxine (Parsons); daughter Tracey Darrigan (Shane); grandchildren Patricia Rumbolt (Ryan), Katelyn Darrigan; and precious great-granddaughter Ava. Also leaving to mourn, siblings Lonze, Theresa, Shirley (Pete-deceased), Laverna (Roy), Raymond (Debbie), Colleen (Gerard), Celena, Leonard, Martin (Monica), Walter (Val), Lisa, Robert; siblings-in-law Annie (Maurice-deceased), Jessie (Jim), Garry (Sandra), Darryl (Maureen) and special “grandchildren” Renee and Laura as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.  

Visitation will be held at Fillatre Funeral Home on St. Mark’s Ave, Corner Brook, NL on Sunday, November 12 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 13, 11:00 am at Humber United Church.

Donations can be made to Humber United Church or a charity of one’s choice.
