April 17, 1936 – November 9, 2023

West St. Modeste, NL

 

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late John Marshall announce his passing on Thursday, November 9th, 2023 at his residence in West St. Modeste at the age of 87 years.

 John was born in Lance Au Diable, Labrador.  He moved with his wife and family to Churchill Falls in 1972 where he resided until his retirement in 1993. Then he moved with his wife back to West St. Modeste.  John has many fond memories of his years spent in Churchill Falls. He was a hard worker, loved playing the accordion, berry picking and spending time with his family, especially any time spent with his great grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. 

He leaves so mourn his wife of 64 years, Lily; his children,  Roderick (Suzanne), Jerome (Lillian), Carmelita, Otto (Angela) and Marcella; Grandchildren, Jake (Kayla), James, Jenine (Trevor), Laura, Jessica (Leon), Brittany, Morgan, Natasha, Samantha and Jonathon; Great grandchildren, TJ, Leyton, Zayden, Makenna and Kaleb; Brothers Gordon and Jim; sister Rosalie; special friends Alfred and Winnie Barney, and a wide  circle of family and friends.

Predeceased by his loving son Kenneth; parents Alfred and Gertrude (Fowler) Marshall of West St. Modeste, siblings, Minnie, Margaret, Violet, Stewart, Leo, Henry, Victor and Fred and parents-in- law Eff and Nellie Yetman;

Funeral services to be held at Our Lady of Labrador church in West. St. Modeste on Saturday, November 11th, 2023 at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at L’Anse Au Diable.
