Margaret Lillian Hynes
February 5, 1945 – November 11, 2023
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Margaret Lillian Hynes announce the passing of our dear mom on November 11th, 2023 at the Western Health Palliative care unit at the age of 78 surrounded by her family.
Left to mourn are her children: Josie (Chad), Roxanne (Stephen) and Brad (Amanda). Her precious grandchildren: Kennedy (Luke), Sarah (Patrick), Brooklyn and Brayden. Sister: Madonna and brother Angus (Ruth). Sister in-law: Mary (Ed) and brother in-law Raymond (Marion) as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, grandson Noah, parents Harvey and Ella Sheppard, baby brother Alexander, brother in-law Benjamin Childs, nephew Grant Sheppard. As well as Parents in-law Leo and Sarah Hynes. Sisters and brothers in-laws: Rose (Clayton) Short, Dorothy (William) Hynes, Peter (Hilda) Hynes, Albert (Mame) Hynes and Leo Companion.
We would like to thank the staff of 3B at the Western Memorial Hospital as well as Dr. Lafferty and the team of the Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care and compassion given to our mom. We would also like to say a special thank you to Rev. Effie Organ and Chaplain Rev. David Russell for your many visits, chats and prayers of support. You have all made her journey a little bit easier and we are forever grateful.
As per Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service or visitation at this time. Interment to be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Margaret’s name can be made to the St. James Memorial Fund, Lark Harbour.
