Gary James Wells

October 2, 1956 – November 5, 2023

Hughes Brook, NL

It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Gary Wells, while he was doing one of the things he loved to do; Moose Hunting, on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 at the age of 67 years.

Leaving to mourn  with fond and loving memories, his spouse Jennifer Davis, sons: Jason Wells and Kyle Clemens; sisters and brother: Jocelyn Pawley (Jerry), Judy Mosher (Hollis Jacobs, deceased), Debbie Moore Frank (Junior), Donna Mitchell and Jamie Wells; nieces and nephews,  Rod and Jeff Pawley, Cory and Adam Mosher, Jordan Neil, Lesley and Jena Mitchell, Ashley and Stephanie Wells; great nieces and great nephews, Felicia, Tyson and Mason Pawley, Evan and Matthew Pawley, Oliver Mosher,  other relatives and many friends.

Predeceased by his parents James and Laura Wells and his beloved dog, Sheba.

At his request cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling on Tuesday, January 30^th, 2024, from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 31^st, 2024 at 10:30 am  from Sacred Heart Parish with interment to follow at Townsite cemetery, Mongomery street.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gary’s memory to Sacred Heart Parish or to St. Vincent de Paul.

A special Heartfelt Thank You to those who went above and beyond; Corporal Rumbolt (RCMP), Ruth Lamb (AO Western) and Zeke Gough (Friend).  Thank you for the joint effort of those from Air/Land Search and Rescue, and an extra effort by brother, Jamie, who arranged the Canadian Forces Cormorant. To the people of Hughes Brook and surrounding communities who found and brought Gary Home. Thanks to everyone who have been supportive. I appreciate all the visits, calls, food and sympathy.
