Wagg George Howard Corner Brook, NL July 28, 1926 – March 4, 2018 George Howard Wagg’s journey ended peacefully, Sunday morning, 04 March 2018, at Corner Brook’s Western Memorial Regional Hospital, with family at his side. It began 91 years ago off the Burin Peninsula on the island of Stepaside. His birth was welcomed by his parents Gertrude Melinda Foote and Joseph Wilfred Wagg. Howard, as he came to be called, will be forever missed by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lovenia (nee Langdon), and their children: Dana, Wanda, Roxanne and Christelle (Don) as well as grandchildren: Dara, Kaleela, Margo, Callie, Erika and Kirk. Howard was predeceased by his brothers Ronald and Robert and sister Edna. He is survived by his brother Gordon and a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also predeceased by sons-in law Barry Wood and Paul Hepditch. Howard was a kind, generous, honest, fair, honorable, hard-working gentleman. He faced life’s challenges and recent health issues with strength and courage and stood tall through it all. Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Wednesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral service will take place from the Chapel on Thursday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Eugene Gillett officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
