Obituary of Emily Miriam Pardy

Emily Miriam Pardy 

April 28, 1933 – December 1, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Emily Pardy announce her passing at the age of 90 on December 1, 2023, at the Western Long-Term Care Home in Corner Brook, NL.

Emily was born in the beautiful community of Grand Bruit on the southwest coast of NL. As a young woman she moved to Corner Brook where she met and married her husband, Clyde Pardy. The family later moved to Pasadena where Emily was active in many community groups including the Senior’s Club. Emily’s humorous good nature, honesty and kindness touched the hearts of the many people she met along her journey.

Left to cherish the memories are her children: Don Pardy (Kay Baldwin), Derek Pardy (Janet), and Kim Dawson (Bill); grandchildren: Warren Pardy (Ashley), Mark Pardy (Cheryl), Alannah Dawson (Lucas Dower), and Rebecca Dawson (Kyle Carter); great-grandchildren: Danica, Jaxton, Axton, Leah, and Jasper; siblings: Clarence Billard (Barbara), Jim Billard (Lois), Maisie Herridge (Roland), Doreen Walsh, Vera Billard (Wesley), Clyde Billard (Cindy).

Emily is predeceased by her husband, Clyde Pardy; parents Melida and Thomas Billard; sisters: Evelyn Herridge, and Mona Billard; brother Clayton Billard; sister-in-law Jackie Billard; brothers-in-law: Brian Walsh, Roy Herridge, and Don Billard.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Robert O’Driscoll, the staff at Stillwaters, and the RNs at Corner Brook’s Long-Term Care for the attention and kindness that they generously shared with our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

Granting her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitations for family and friends will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue in Corner Brook on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Thursday December 14, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. followed by Emily’s memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Fillatre’s St. Marks Avenue Chapel, officiated by Captain Kim Chan. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
