Obituary of Bessie May House

May 2, 1928 - December 5, 2023.                                                                                                             

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Bessie May House announce her passing at the Rufus Guinchard Health Care Centre on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 at the age of 95 years. She is formally from the  community of River of Ponds.  She leaves to mourn a large circle of family and friends. This includes her 4 loving children: Olive (Ray) Sheppard, David (Christine) House, Shirley (Junior) House, Casey (Dulcie) House; 12 Grandchildren:  Amanda (Damien) Hanton, Colleen (Peter) White, Evelyn (Roger) Patey , Trudy (Dennis) Styles, Leona (John) Peach, Sonja (Don) Drover, Twila (Daryl) Hynes, Gail Whyness, Lisa (Shawn) Patey, Nicole House (Boyd), Cheryl (Wayne) Tracy and  Zabrina (former husband Bradley Ball) House; 18 Great-Grandchildren: Joshua, McKenzie, Logan, David, Michael, Taylor, Hannah, Jacob, MacKenna, Kaitlyn, Joshua, Hannah, Rebekah, Grant, Rachael, Sarah, Brayden and Georgia; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren Ella and Sara; 1 Great-Great-Great-Grandchild Amelia.

Bessie is predeceased by her late husband Garland House, brothers: Steven, Samuel,  Chelsey, Garfield and Percy; sisters: Elizabeth, Bediah, Ida and Masie; son-in-law William Viau.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday, December 9th, 2023, Funeral Service 2pm @ St.  Peter's Anglican Church River of Ponds with The Rev.  Marie Smith officiating.  Interment to follow.

Visitations are being held at St.  Peter's Anglican Church in River of Ponds, NL.                                                                     

Wednesday, December 6th from 7pm - 9pm                                                                                                                                         

Thursday, December 7th from 1pm - 9m / Family Service 7pm - 9pm.

Friday, December 8th from 1pm-9pm

An expression of thanks is extended to all those who continue to show their support during this difficult time.  Bessie will be forever missed while leaving a legacy of memories shared by many.
