It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Norman Joseph Swyer at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on 18 December 2023 at the age of 63 years.
Norman was predeceased most recently by his sister Olive, his parents Olive and Roy Swyer, and his nephew Norman Charles Swyer.
He leaves to mourn, his sister Josephine, brothers Jerry, and Roy (Patricia) as well as several nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Norman’s heart belonged in Newfoundland. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and being away from the hustle and bustle of city life. He moved away from home several times over the years, but he always found his way back to our little island…Norman was a kind soul who would help anyone who needed it. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort that he is no longer in pain.
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private celebration of life to honour their brother at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
