Maude Elizabeth Chaffey

St. David’s, NL

May 25, 1937 – Jan. 2, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Maude Elizabeth Chaffey announce her peaceful passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on January 2, 2024 at the age of 86 years.

She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her children:  Corinna (Jerome) Madore, Lora (Malcolm) Gilbert, Tessie (Geoff) Darby, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, her sister Adelia Bridges and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Louise Gilbert who is now deceased.

Maude was predeceased by her parents Simon & Belle Hulan, her husband David Chaffey, brother Douglas Hulan, sister Amy Lilly. 

Maude really loved to go on the “Ride For Ages Bus” together with her friends and bus drivers.  Maude loved to play cards, bingo, paint on her tablet but most of all she loved to knit her dish cloths and socks.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for their professionalism, nurses and doctors who took care of mom in palliative care.

Flowers will not be accepted.  Donations may be made to the St. Michael and All Angels Memorial Fund.

Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium, Pasadena, NL. Service and or Burial will be announced at a later date.  

 Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing, NL.
