It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Skeffington announce her passing on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at the Long Term Care Centre, in Corner Brook, at the age of 93 years old. It is also a great joy to know that she was surrounded by her loving family, and her soul went into the presence of her Lord and her Saviour; absent from the body and present with the Lord. She was a loving and kind wife and mother to their 7 children whom she leaves to mourn: Marguerite (Gordon) Hollett of Corner Brook, Diana (Floyd) Park of Corner Brook, Irene (Grenfell) Belbin of Corner Brook, Snowden (Margaret) of Corner Brook, Linda (James) Patterson of New Hazelton, British Columbia, Lois (Larry) Wookey of New Hazelton, British Columbia, and Eunice (Grant) Patterson of Calgary, Alberta; two sisters-in-law: Winnifred Skeffington and Norma Skeffington; cousin: Kenneth Murrin. She has a large circle of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is predeceased by husband Eugene, parents Joshia and Susannah Sheppard, sisters Theresa, Chrissy, and brother Charlie.

The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and all the staff of 4NW Corner Brook Long Term Care for the help and compassion shown towards mom for the past few years.

Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Thursday, January 4^th from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5^th at 11:00am from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of ones choice.
