Obituary of Shirley Martin

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Shirley Ruth Pearl Martin announce her passing on January 13^th, 2024, at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, NL at the age of 80 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Naomi (Christian Riveros), Nikki-Marie (Alan R. Crombie), Jane, Danielle (Jayson Knapton), and Keith (Sandra Plowman-Noseworthy); grandchildren: Jesse, Lis, Christopher, Shelley, Daniel, Nevaeh, Everleigh and soon to be born grandson; sister: Claudette Lethbridge; as well as extended relatives and friends.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband: Daniel Martin; parents: Fred and Melba Brown; twin brother Herman; brother Gerald and sister Jean.

Visitations will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL on Thursday, January 18^th, 2024, from the hours of 2:00-4:00 p.m and 7:00-9:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 19^th, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. from St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL with Rev. Amber Tremblett officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Them Days Magazine.

Shirley wished to send special thanks to those who greatly impacted her life: Francis and the late Helen Coates, Minnie and the late Glenn Martin, the late Ethel and the late Ken Martin, the late Francis Davis, the late Sevilla Bird, the late Hilda Mugford and the late Archbishop Francis Buckle.

The family would like to thank the residents and staff of Roddickton house, for their loving care and friendship in her final years.
