April 10, 1964 - January 13, 2024
It is with heavy hearts the family of Roy Cyril Plowman announce his passing at the Rufus Guinchard Health Care Centre on Saturday, January 13th, 2024 at the age of 59 years.
Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Marilyn Plowman; son Stephen Plowman (Tiffany); grandchildren: Dakota (Alley), Bentley; great-grandson Maddox; his mother-in-law Rachel Hutchings (Bruce); sisters: Margaret Curtis, Dorothy Humber; brothers: Melvin (Kim), Wilson (Bernadette), Ivan, Dave (Debbie); brothers-in-law Fred (Lynn), Romeo Caines; sisters-in-law: Phyllis, Sherry (Glenn), Linda (Luke) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Roy was predeceased by his daughter Samantha Plowman; parents James and Alfreda Plowman; father-in-law Fred Hutchings; nephew Gregory Bennett and niece Renee Bennett; brothers: Garfield (Annie), Garland; sisters: Marie Plowman, Whilomena Caines, Alice Critchley (Cecil); brother-in-law Roy Curtis.
Roy was a loving husband, father and grandfather with a strong work ethic. He was a hard worker who enjoyed working at his local fish plant since he was 16 years old. In his free time he loved playing a game of darts. There was nothing that Roy couldn't do in the eyes of his family and many others in his life. Roy was known as a kind man who provided his family with a very warm and loving home.
He will be forever missed by all who knew him.
Many thanks going out to all those who helped Dad along the way after he became sick, the Doctors and Nurses at Rufus Guinchard, Long Term Care. A special thanks to nurse Diane Cunard, who Dad loved dearly.
Cremation has taken place
Visitation: Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 7pm-9pm @ St. Thomas Beckett Anglican Church, Port au Choix, NL.
A Celebration of Life will take place at St. Thomas Beckett Anglican Church in Port au Choix on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 @ 11 am. The Reverend Marie Smith Officiating. Interment will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024 @ Sandy Cove Interfaith Cemetery, Port Saunders, NL.
