Obituary of Ida Darlene Ryan

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ida Darlene Ryan on Sunday January 21, 2024 at the age of 66 years.

Darlene was born and raised in Cox’s Cove, Newfoundland. Moved to Ontario in 1987. She enjoyed Bingo nights and watching her Wheel of Fortune over the years. Spending time with family brought her the most joy.

Beloved wife and best friend of Murray Ryan, who were married for more than 44 years.

Loving mother of Rochelle (Paul), Robyn (Ian), and Renee.

Dear sister of Loretta, Harold (Bernice), Michael (Lawrence), Elaine (Taylor), Monica (Harrison) and Charlotte (Bradley).

Sister-in-law to Noreen (Jerry), Terry (Patricia), Elaine, Pat, Gemma (Wayne), Pius (Kim), and Caroline.

Loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Will be missed by very special friends and cousins Judy and Rick Byrne.

Predeceased by her parents Martha and Reginald Barnes, sister (Rowena) brother-in-law (Cyril), brother (Kevin), brother (John), mother-in-law (Mary), father-in-law (Martin) and brother-in-law (Martin).

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Williamsburg Dedication Centre, 1541 Fischer-Hallman Road in Kitchener on Saturday February 3, 2024 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre.
