Allan Michael Hinks

June 12, 1949 – February 2, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Allan Michael Hinks announce his passing on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit at the age of 74 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 55 years Shirley (nee Butt); son Michael (Morgan); sisters: Brenda Hinks (Glenn Anstey) and Joanne (Kevin) Bate; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mollie (Harold) Wall, Bill (Donna) Butt, Gerald (Yvonne) Butt and Robert (Glenda) Butt; niece Trudy “Sis” Buckle, Nephews: KJ Hollahan (Kristi-Lee Anderson) and Brandon (Amy) Murrin; his furry companion Pal; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Theresa Caines, step-father Eric Caines, sister Evelyn Buckle, parents-in-law Mary and Moses Butt. A special thank you to niece Trudy “Sis” Buckle for all her time, love and compassion. Also a thank you to the Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Sunday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 5 at 10:00 a.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Father Edward Terry officiating. Cremation will follow, with an interment at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
