Obituary of Gloria Clara Morris

GLORIA CLARA MORRIS

Jeffrey’s, NL

January 23, 1932 - February 4, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that the family of the late Gloria Morris (née Madore) announce her peaceful passing on February 4th, 2024 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander, NL at the age of 92 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are: her daughter, Deborah (John) Menchenton; 3 Sons  Barry (Sandra), James (Thelma Ingram), & Chester (Evelyn); 7 grandchildren: Erika Menchenton (Bernard Hamill), Dawn Snow (Harry), John Menchenton (Lisa Hinchey), Matthew Morris (Jennifer), Krista Morris-MacDonald (Trevor), Chivon Morris (Mike Carter), & Jordan Morris (Sarah); and 9 great grandchildren:  Maia, Keiran, Nathan, Austin, Maddox, Georgia, Abigail, Carson & Oaklyn. Also leaving to mourn are: her brother, Clayton (Agathe) Madore; 4 sisters: Rachel McKay, Georgina Alley, Roma Hulan, & Shelia Hulan; and 2 sisters-in-law - Eileen Madore & Vicki Madore.

Gloria was predeceased by: her parents, Stephen & Cassimra Madore; husband, Emanuel Morris; 3 children - Marguerite, Jerome & Brad; 2 sisters - Wilhelmina Madore & Phyllis Chaffey; and 4 brothers - Herman, Leopold, Clarence & Melvin Madore.

Many thanks to the staff at Crosswinds Seniors Residence in Robinsons, NL for her care, where she lived for 5 years, and to the staff at Whites Family Care Residence in Brown’s Arm, NL.  A special thank-you for the exceptional end-of-life care she received at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander, NL.

Cremation will take place at Stacey's Funeral Home & Crematorium in Gander. A celebration of life and inurnment will take place at a later date in Jeffrey’s, NL.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy and donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church in Jeffrey’s.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Stephenville Crossing, NL.
