Obituary of Doreen Marjorie Belben

It is with great sadness that the family of Doreen Marjorie Belben nee Smith announce her passing on February 11", 2024, at the home of her daughter in Happy Valley - Goose Bay, NL.

Doreen was born on August 7th, 1956. She grew up in Battle Harbour with her family and lived a life of simple joys and happiness. She met the love of her life, Victor, at 18 years old while attending college and married him at 21. They enjoyed a long marriage of nearly 47 years, as each others best friend.

Together they raised two daughters Vicki and Krista, and later gained two wonderful son in laws Aaron and Andy. From there they were given four loving grandchildren, Michaela, Matthew, Jasmine, and Lindsey, as well as two great-grandchildren, Desmond, and Aaron Jr.

Doreen was blessed throughout her life with a large extended family and was predeceased by her mom and dad Charlotte and William Smith, brother Gordon Smith, brother William Smith Jr., brother Samuel Smith, brother Walter Rumbolt, sister Violet Pierce, and biological mother Lillian Little.

She has left behind to mourn many family and friends.

The family would like to extend a thank you to her physician Dr. Sean Dillon for his excellent care, to Angie Lawrence RN who supported her through her battle with cancer, to Emily Fox RN and Julia Rumbolt RN for providing support to her family in her last days, and to all those who sent messages, food, phone calls, etc.
