March 21, 1943 – February 11, 2024

 

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruth Saunders announce her passing on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 80 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Harry Saunders; children: Pamela Saunders, Janice Ash (Eric), Tracey Randell (Raymond) and Jamie Saunders; grandchildren: Michael, Steven (Alyssa), Stephanie (Zach), Matthew (Megan) and Krista; 1 great-granddaughter Lily; sisters: Maude Knee (Ben) and Frances Brake; brother Dan Baldwin (Vallis); brothers and sisters-in-law: Don Penney, Stan Saunders (Ellen), Bob Saunders (Anne), Anita Baldwin, Flossie Barnes, Shirley Baldwin and Thomas Hussey; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents John and Gertrude Baldwin, sisters and brothers Ida Gough (Selby), Laura Mercer (Bill), Bud Baldwin, Dave Baldwin (Barbara), Gilbert Baldwin, Mick Baldwin, Archibald Baldwin, Peggy Hussey and Doily Penney, parents-in-law Jack and Phoebe Saunders, brother-in-law Pete Barnes. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 14 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Cox’s Cove with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Cox’s Cove. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
