Obituary of Margaret Rose Fitzgerald

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Margaret Rose Fitzgerald announce her passing at the BSG Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing, NL on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the age of 84 years.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Tucker, her son Brian, and two baby sons; her parents Louis & Agnes Bennett, her siblings William, Dorothy, Cecil, Freddy, Louis, Clayton, Viola, Kevin, and Terrence and far too many other loved ones to mention.

She will be missed and forever remembered by her children: Karen (Wayne), Kevin, Donna (Paul), Brenda (Corey), Gloria, Paul (Pinky); Grandchildren: Corey (Shianne), Cole, Rica, Frederick, April & Jordan;  her sister Gloria McIsaac, her sisters-in-law Janet Power, Heather (Bob) Byrnes, and Margie Fitzgerald; her nieces & nephews; and a large circle of friends.

Our mother’s love has always been a sustaining force for our family and one of our greatest joys is seeing her integrity, her compassion, and her kindness reflected in all those she loved.    This past year life has thrown many curveballs at our family, and our mother embraced each one with dignity and grace like the Queen she is.  During that time our mother had 4 different homes and we are so grateful to know that she was loved by all staff at STRH Hospital, Restorative Care Unit in corner brook, Acadian Village in Stephenville and BSG long-term care Centre in Stephenville Crossing.   The exemplary care provided to our mom during her final home at BSG Long-Term Care Centre is definitely worth the mention.  Mom loved the staff, but in turn you can easily see how much they loved her by the way they treated her with such respect. You are amazing people and our family will be forever grateful.

There are so many special people to mention and one, of note, is Mom’s friend, Francis.  These two were destined to be together as, in the last year, they have been “chasing each other” from one medical facility to the next and we hope Francis knows how much we appreciate the love, support, and encouragement that she gave our mother every day.

It was no secret how much Mom loved her husband and her family but she also had a great love for music, she loved to cook and bake, she loved a good game of cards - but for all her life she loved God with every fibre of her being and we take comfort knowing she was welcomed with open arms ♥️
