Obituary of Adelor Joseph Caines

March 1, 1944 - February 22, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a special man, Adelor Joseph Caines.  He quietly surrendered to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Care Centre, while surrounded by his loving family, at the age 79.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, daughter Melissa (Fraser), son Michael (Stephanie), grandson Ethan, sisters:  Eileen, Noreen (Jerome), Bernice (Frank), brothers:  Gord (Aggie), Cliff (Ann), sister-in-law Mary and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.  

He is predeceased by parents Lawrence and Gertrude, parents-in-law Leonard and Anastasia Haggerty, brothers:  Raphael, Benedict, Ed, Don, Lawrence, sister-in-law Eudora and brother-in-law Romeo Beaudoin.

Adelor was a hard worker by nature.  He found joy in the simplicity of salmon fishing, hunting in the wild, leisurely walks, socializing and the harmonies of music.  His love for these pursuits was infectious, bringing light to those around him.  He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Special thanks to the staff at the Rufus Guinchard Health Care Centre.  Your exceptional care and unwavering compassion towards Adelor is truly appreciated.

In keeping with his wishes, Cremation has already taken place. 

To celebrate Adelor's life, there will be a visitation for family and friends on Thursday, February 29 at Fillatre's Funeral Home from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. 

Funeral service will be held at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Port au Choix on Friday, March 1 at 2:00 pm with Father Amarjth Thekkedath  officiating.  Inurnment to take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Long Term Care Unit at the Rufus Guinchard Health Care Centre.
