Obituary of Murphy, John William Murphy, B.A, B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Ed, Ph.d.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Murphy on March 8, 2024 surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 76.
An educator for 30 years, John completed his successful teaching career at Regina High School in 2001. In his retirement, John really enjoyed playing piano to entertain family and friends, he also enjoyed his time being Santa at the mall.
John is survived by his wife Jane, sons Chris (Tamara), Michael (Joselyn), Patrick (Mary), Fred and daughter Hiromi (Jonathan) and their families. Also left with fond memories and stories are siblings Joseph (Judy), Kevin (Marie), and Colleen (Jim) as well as his nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends and colleagues.
John’s wishes were for cremation. Private family burial will take place in Benoit’s Cove at a later date. Donations in John’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
