Robert Harvey Simms

June 5, 1965 – March 20, 2024

Robert, or Bob as he was known by his family, passed away on March 20th at the age of 58 with family at his side after a difficult battle with cancer.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his father, Harvey Simms; daughter, Robyn (John); siblings, Maxine, Nancy (Roger), Jim (Mary-Jo), Christine (Peter), Michelle (Earl); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Bob was predeceased by his mother, Irene, and his brother-in-law, Keith.

As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A private family service will be held at a later date.

Bob was born in Corner Brook but spent most of his adult life in British Columbia where he had further opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors, including hunting and fishing; however, he always said there was nothing like Newfoundland moose and Newfoundland lobsters!  Bob enjoyed working a diversity of jobs but in recent years was proud to be a longshoreman in Surrey.  He loved the company of friends and family and enjoyed telling a good story, which may or may not have been exaggerated! A loving uncle, he had especially close relationships with Stephanie and Elizabeth who also live in BC.  Bob was glad to be able to spend his last months in the province of his birth with his family here and to spend time with his much loved father.  He is now once again in the loving arms of his mother.
