EVELYN JEAN BRAKE (nee Smith) Corner Brook, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jean Brake announce her sudden passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on Wednesday, April 21st, 2010 at the age of 76 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Christine Brake and Paul (Patti) Brake; grandchildren: Sarah, Alanna, Samuel and Alexandria; sisters: Mae Roberts (Ernie) and Sandra Fiteni (Alex); brother: Winston Smith (Pat); brother-in-law: Bert Brake (Isabel); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends. Predeceased by her husband: Melbourne (1997); parents: Meshack and Annie Smith; brothers: Jack, Jim and Hector; sisters: Marjorie, Dorothy and Bernice. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 24th at 11:00 A.M. from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street, followed by interment at Mt. Patricia cemetery, officiated by Reverend Michael Rice. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
