A quote says “ it takes a whole community …” Caroline was the embodiment of this quote with her commitment to volunteer and committee work. She was the unassuming person with the strong work ethic, dedication and supporter of others. Her endeavours spanned community, sports, youth and school groups. Her personal interest in people was evidenced by her smile and inquiry of your family and their endeavours during chance meetings from downtown St. John's to the coastal twin otter , a local fundraiser, over the radio at winter games or on the lake. Our family was blessed by her friendship that started during our children's elementary school days .

Caroline was a hugely valued colleague and such a joy to work with. She was so very accommodating of changing schedules and expectations, cheerfully taking everything in stride. I smiled as I read the comments of others, knowing that she would have chased helicopters and dodged bears in the effort to "get 'er done". In leaving us, Caroline has left a big hole in our delivery of services in the HV-GB region, that is for certain. I can't even fathom the hole she would have left in her personal life. Perry, Kracker, family, and friends, you have my deepest condolences.

My sincerest condolences to Perry, her family and friends.
I met Caroline a number of years ago through our work. She was always smiling or laughing, but my fondest memory of her comes from July, 2016. My son and I were on a school trip to France and Belgium to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Beaumont Hamel. We were standing near the caribou memorial in Monchy Le Proux in France and I see her walk around the corner. We just looked at each other and said ‘What are you doing here?!’ We had a good laugh, saying you never know who you’re going to run in to.

Very sorry to hear of Caroline’s passing. I knew Caroline from kindergarten through university. She was always pleasant, kind, thoughtful and compassionate. I have a special recollection of her when we were in early elementary school. We were being pressed and hurried by the teachers with outstretched arms and pointed fingers to get outside for fresh air over recess and I was unable to tie up my hood! Caroline saw me struggle and immediately came over to tie up my hood neatly under my chin, making sure it was just right and that I knew where to pull when it came time to effect release. A small kindness, but one that I recall well and that showed her character even at that young age.

Perry and the Hong family, my deep condolences to you all. I didn't know Caroline was ill; I am shocked that she passed away. I remember her as a wonderful colleague in St. John's, and then in Goose Bay. She was so calm, and very organised, keeping us all moving forward in remote Labrador on many projects. Very sorry for your loss. I had only recently heard Caroline was not well.
I sometimes think of that time we left Caroline on a gravel bar in the middle of nowhere to recover from air sickness while we went off to another distant location to refuel. When we came back I was amazed she was still there and had not been eaten by bears. She had a big smile on her face when she climbed back into the security of the helicopter.

I'll never forget when our Torngat group (10 people) was fogged out of flying to Nain how Caroline literally whipped up a beautiful barbecue supper. Perry - I just recently learned of Caroline's illness and was saddened today to hear of her passing. Caroline and I had many work calls over the years for testing she needed arranged for her projects, but our calls were always just a bit longer as we updated each other on how things were going. Dear Perry
I only recently learned of Caroline's illness and was saddened today to learn she passed away.
I have fond memories of Caroline working together on our Muskrat Falls project and other projects in Newfoundland and Labrador (Caroline - in a fluorescent orange jumpsuit leading safety briefings in the field; Caroline - lugging that huge black sack when she was heading off to Voisey's Bay, reminding me she'd be hard to reach; Caroline's smile).
She was brilliant co-worker and friend. Always positive, always thorough, and always considerate. I know you, Kracker, and friends and family will miss her. Though my heart is heavy, I carry a picture in my mind's eye of a happy and radiant woman.

I am heart broken and Very sorry to hear of Caroline’s passing… I knew you and Caroline well…through field work and our travels to remote destinations while completing work projects, She was a pleasure to work with, with a heart of gold and the kindest soul.

Dear Perry, I am so sorry to hear of Caroline's passing. I will never forget you two welcoming me into your home in St. John's many years ago when I would travel over for work regularly. And it was always such a pleasure to work with her at Jacques Whitford and then Stantec, she was always so competent and professional. She will be missed.

Just heard of Caroline's passing today.
Very sorry to hear that Caroline had passed knew her well from her many visits to Voisey's Bay.
On every visit we would definitely have time for a friendly conversation. I would always ask about you as we had known each other from the Long Harbour Phosphorus Plant.

Perry, we are so saddened to hear of Caroline's passing. We fondly remember our last chat with you both in Port Hope Simpson a few summers ago. My last work memory of Caroline was when we were electrofishing and water sampling in Voisey's Bay in August 2020. We had a hot, sunny day and I was sweating profusely in my waders. I was in the river and was mildly zapped by the electrofisher. Caroline, being the safety guru she was, drove me in out of the water to dry off. She would not take no for an answer!
Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will sure miss seeing her beautiful smile and kind, gentle disposition.
