It is with great sadness that the family of Maude Goode (Wheeler) announce her passing on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in ICU at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook in her 84th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Jim Wheeler, Rod Wheeler (Debbie), Daryl Wheeler (Lisa); stepchildren: Colleen Burlet (Mike), Donny Goode (Stacey); grandchildren: David Wheeler (Nikki), Jonathan Wheeler (Stephanie), Evan Wheeler (Emma), Alex Wheeler (Adam), Rory Burlet (Marissa), Austin Hohn (Natalie), Perry Hohn (Olivia), Dean Goode, Samantha Goode; great grandchildren: Bowen Giles, Levi Wheeler, Frank Wheeler, Lincoln Wheeler, Jacob Tilley, Benjamin Tilley, Theo Burlet, Alice Burlet; sisters and brothers: Mervie Piercey, Rowena Mouland (Jack), Patsy Parsons, Leander Drodge, Stan Drodge (Joan), Edward Drodge (Theresa), Bill Drodge (Doreen), Fred Drodge (Emmie), Bud Drodge (Sharon); sisters and brother In-Laws: Edna Hunt (Bruce), Irene Semkiw, Herb Newell, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Maude was predeceased by her first husband Dave Wheeler and second husband Donald Goode; Parents: Albert and Sara Drodge; mother and father in-law: Mary and Raymond Wheeler; sisters and brother In- Laws: Charlie Piercey, Katherine Drodge, Sam Parsons, Terri Newell, Paul Semkiw, Clyde and Sadie Clarke, Frank and Carrie Greene. The family would like to express sincere thanks to Dr. Nagy Bolous for the care he provided to their mother over the years, along with the staff at the renal dialysis and ICU unit at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital. Sincere appreciation is also extended to the staff at Westmount Estates. The care and compassion she received within the last year allowed her final days to be filled with support and dignity. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home at 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 2:00 PM at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street, Corner Brook with The Very Rev. Catherine Short officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted but donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
