Obituary of Cecil Jacque

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cecil “Cec” Henry Jacque announce his passing on April 5^th, 2024 at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL at the age of 78 years.

His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, our dad didn’t complain and stayed strong till the end. He was fondly called Cec by many friends that knew him. Our dad passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving wife of 55 years, and other family members.

Our dad’s strong faith in the Lord and his love for his wife and his family, will leave a legacy that has touched not only his family but anyone that was a part of his life.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife: Matilda; children: Darren (Shelley), Gloria (Dean), Laura (Bruce), Derek (Vanessa), Dennis (Candy); grandchildren: Herbie, Justin, Jocelyn, Brian, Olivia, Colin, Garrett, Kelsey, Samuel, Katelyn, Shawn, Riley; great grandchildren: Dylan, Mariah, Samuel, Finley, Lincoln, Hunter, Nevaeh, Grace, Faith, Daxton, Cecilia, Jake, and Kiefer; brothers: Harold (Josephine), and Fred (Sylvia); sisters: Diane (Chesley) and Clarice (Ron); sister-in-law: Norma; brother-in-law: Wilson; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cec was predeceased by his parents: William and Lillian; and grandson: Dylan.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 9^th, 2024 from the Pentecostal Church in Postville, NL with Pastor Russ Austin officiating. Interment to follow immediately after the service.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The family would like to send special thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Clare’s and the Health Sciences Centre and the staff of the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL.
