Obituary of Joseph Arthur Lavers

February 4, 1937 -  April 7,  2024

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Arthur Lavers of Port au Choix, announce his passing on Sunday, April 7th, 2024 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Care Centre, Port Saunders, at the age of 87.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 58 years, Hilda; children:  Jennie (Glen), Vernon (Connie) and Desmond (Jennifer); grandchildren:  Kelly, Brendon, Benjamin, Jamie (Carol), Landon and Nathan; great-grandchildren: Zachery (Bethany) and Luna; great-great-granddaughter Aaliyah; Sisters:  Lucille and Jean; special friend Lowell, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Joe is predeceased by parents Margaret and Wilson Lavers, brothers Wilson and baby Tommy; his adoptive brothers and sisters Irene, Maud, Edna, Eudora, Evelyn, Peter and Albert. 

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Rufus Guinchard Health Care Centre in Port Saunders, for their care in his final days and to the staff of Lanes Retirement Home for their care while he was a resident.

Joe was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, who will be forever missed by his loving family.

Visitation will take place at St.  Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Port au Choix, NL. 

Thursday, April 11, 2024      2pm - 4pm, 7pm - 9pm   

Friday, April 12, 2024          2pm - 4pm, 7pm - 9pm

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 @ 11 am with Father Rossi Officiating.

Interment  to follow at Sandy Cove Interfaith Cemetery, Port Saunders, NL.
