SIMON SHEARS ST. DAVID’S, NL OCTOBER 21, 1937 … APRIL 29, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Simon Shears of St. David’s announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Thursday, April 29th at the age of 72 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Margaret; children: Winona Shears (Justin), Joseph Shears, Leanda Shears (Terry); grandchildren: Jackie Shears (Derrick), Emily Legge, Derrick Legge, Stuart Shears, Damian Shears, Samantha MaCinnis; brothers: Robert Shears, Gerald Shears; sisters: Eva Madore (Calvin), Una McEachren (Rodney), Cavell McEachren (Isaac), Sara Madore (Churchill), Clara Gillam as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Eva Shears; brothers: Melvin, Edward; brother-in-law Elwin Gillam. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday and Sunday from 2 … 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in St. David’s from where a private family funeral service will take place on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Canon David Pearce officiating. Interment will follow in the Anglican Cemetery, St. David’s.
