Obituary of Mildred Gaudette

Mildred Gaudette (nee Marsh)
Age 76 years Dec 1, 1947 – May 8, 2024

We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our Mother Mildred. The Guardian Angel to our whole family has now been reunited with her husband Finton and parents Evelyn and Walter and the rest of her family and friends who have passed on before her.

Born and raised in Dunfield, Trinity Bay, she moved to Corner Brook in 1966 to teach at St. Michael’s School. It was here she met our Dad and raised a family.

Most others would know our mom as the “Large Fries and Hamburger Meat and Gravy Lady” at the Summit Lounge in Corner Brook.

Family and friends meant everything to our Mother, rarely thinking about herself; to the very end.

Mildred is predeceased by her husband: Finton Joseph Gaudette; mother: Evelyn Marsh (Locke); father: Walter Marsh; Brother: Roger Marsh; sister-in-law’s: Maureen Marsh, Mary Ann Marsh, Margaret Gaudet, Doris Gaudet, and Lorna Vincent; brother-in-law’s: Edward Gaudet, and Raymond King.

Leaving to mourn with precious memories are son: Finton Gaudette (Joan); daughters: Teena O’Bryan (Darren), and Carol Gaudette (Rod Squires); grandchildren: Marcus Gaudette (Cherry), Katie Gaudette (Jordan), Evan O’Bryan, Alyssa Gaudette, and Maddy Gaudette (Kyle); sisters: Monica King (Gary), Barbara King, and Connie Tobin (Raymond); brothers: William Marsh, Claude Marsh (Olive), Howard Marsh, Leonard Marsh (Madeline) and Phillip Marsh; special friend Linda Patey; as well as a large number of extended family and friends.

Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home 328 Hamilton Avenue St. John’s on Saturday May 11, 2024 for 12-2pm with service to follow in Barrett’s Memorial Chapel at 2pm.
