It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my sister Maureen O’Driscoll Brennan of St. John's, on May 19th., 2024, at the age of 80

Maureen was born in St. John’s on June 25th 1943, to William Patrick and Josephine Brennan (Healey). She leaves to mourn her only grandchild, Ian Patrick Brennan of Virginia Beach. Virginia. Her sister Rosemary Wells (David) of Corner Brook, NL., her brother-in-law Hubert Gierga, Penticton, BC, her sister-in-law Patsy Brennan, St. John’s, NL, and her daughter-in-law Lisa Brennan (Joe), of Virginia Beach, USA; nieces Denise Downton (Scott), Maureen Ryan (Shawn), Erin Brennan, and nephew, Ian Brennan, longtime companion Jim Ward, plus many friends and relatives in Canada, USA and Scotland.

Maureen had lived 39 years in the USA and returned home to St. John's in 2003. She was well loved by family and friends, a contagious personality with a great sense of humor. She was a wonderful hostess with a generous spirit and a joy to be around.

Maureen was predeceased by her parents, her son Glen Brennan, her brother James Brennan, and her sister Joan Hiele, her brother-in-law Ben Hiele, her stepfather Gerard Healey, and her former husband and friend Ian Brennan. 

Visitation will take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, May 24th., 2024 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A memorial service will take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home on Saturday May 25th., at 1pm.

The Brennan family, would like to thank the staff at Pleasant View Towers for their outstanding loving care and support given to Maureen. Donations may be made in Maureen’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society or charity of your choice.

Maureen’s journey is now over, and may she rest in peace.
