William Joseph Christopher

It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Joseph Christopher announce his passing on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 64 years Geraldine Christopher (nee Ruth); children: Keith (Louisa) Christopher, Brampton, Ont., Julie (Todd) Murphy, Summerside, Stephen (Paulette) Christopher, Summerside, Todd Christopher (Eric Patenaude), Ottawa, Ont., Karen (Garry) Fillier, Lochleven and Fred Christopher (Stacy), Portugal Cove-St. Philips; grandchildren: Ryan, Evan, Brad, Alanna, Bruce, Brandon, Ashley, Adam, Tiffany and Wesley; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother: Margaret Wells, Doreen Taylor, Gerald (Kay) Christopher and Jean (Randell) Anderson; sisters and brothers-in-law: Eileen Christopher, Harold Rentz, Shirley Keats, Clifford (Judy) Ruth, Leslie (Sylvia) Ruth, Lew Ruth (Verna), Carol (Jerry) Piercey, Irene Ruth (Ronald) and Eric Ruth (Shannon); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Ellen Christopher, brothers Thomas Christopher and Kevin Christopher, sister Patricia Rentz, parents-in-law Fred and Maisie Ruth. William worked in construction for many years, working with the Pipefitters Local 740. Cremation has taken place, a private interment will be held at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
