Pearl Theresa Saunders

April 4,1937 - May 30, 2024

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Pearl Theresa Saunders (Snook) announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Pearl passed peacefully on May 30th, 2024 at the age of 87 years at the Harbour View Manor in Mary’s Harbour, Labrador surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Pearl was born in Fox Harbour, Labrador (St. Lewis) on April 4, 1937 to George and Gertrude Snook (nee Holley). She was the oldest of 9 children.

In life Pearl loved being with family. She loved a good game of cards and chatting with dear friends over a good cup of tea.

She always had a smile for everyone and dearly loved to laugh. She was tremendously proud of all her family and was always eager to share stories of them all. She will be missed forever more.

Left to celebrate the life and love of Pearl are her loving daughters Joyce (Henry) and Kathleen, her grandchildren Trent (Sharon), Tracy (Kent) and Toby (Melanie); her stepchildren Joan, Joy (Jack), Leroy, Lucy (Dave) and their families.

Pearl will be sadly missed by her siblings Greta (Grafton), Redgeway (Donna), Laura (Garfield), May (Eric), Daisy (Selby) and Evelyn (Ken), as well as her precious great-grandchildren Brandon, Scott, Makaylah, Tye, Elias, Emma and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her first husband Douglas Seaward and her second husband Clyde Saunders; as well as her parents George and Gertrude Snook; her brothers Israel and Leonard Snook, her stepsons Kevin Saunders and Barry Saunders and her darling great granddaughter’s, Jocelyn and Natalie Acreman and great grandson Aiden O’Keefe.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Harbour View Manor and Labrador Grenfell Health for the tremendous care and support given to Pearl especially the last few months. The care, compassion and respect she received during this time was endless and allowed her final days to be filled with love and dignity. We are forever grateful for your kindness.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 2nd at 2:00 P.M. from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in Mary’s Harbour with Reverend Jennifer Rumbolt officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy the family would appreciate donations to be made to the Harbour View Manor in her memory.
