Varrick Eric Hammond of Corner Brook, NL passed away on Monday, May 28, 2024 at the age of 70 years.

Varrick was born in Corner Brook to Idella and Eric Hammond on December 23, 1953. During his teenage years he worked at Humber Nurseries and learned floral design under the late Mrs. Gillam. He became a very distinguished designer and florist winning many awards for his work. A highlight from his career was designing for the Royal Family.

Varrick is survived by his daughter Tammy (Carlos) Calderon of Drumheller, Alberta and their children Bailey, Zachary and Gabriella. Varrick is also survived by his son Edward Hammond of Dundas, Ontario and his children Christian, Tegan and Logan. His siblings Laverne (Ronald) Byrne, Joanne Brockway, Colleen (Ignatius) Manning, Morgan G, (Theresa) Hammond, nephew Morgan (Lisa) Sparkes, sister-in-law Judith Hammond, many nieces and nephews, special friends Brian, Louise and Judy Gillam and family.

Varrick is predeceased by his parents Idella and Eric Hammond, brother Monroe Hammond, brother-in-law Noble Brockway.

Cremation has already taken place, visitation will take place on Thursday, June 6 from 7-9 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. In memory of Varrick flowers will be accepted.
