Obituary of Mabel Julia Dumaresque

Mabel Julia Dumaresque passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Forteau Long Term Care, at the age of 86 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her devoted husband of 65 years, Eldridge Dumaresque; her five children, Danny (Laura), Doug (Dora), Jonathan, Darlene (Philip), and Glenn (Juanita);

her seven grandchildren, Steven, Lia, Daniel, Katie, Aimee, Amber, and Ashton; and her great-granddaughter, Isla Grace. Her Special sister-in-law Eda Chubbs. 

She was predeceased by her parents Alpheus and Mary Chubbs, siblings Clifford, Cecil (Gladys), Amos (Dorothy), Bill, Les (Muriel), Russel (Helen), Dave, Alpheus and Rita. 

Mabel lived her entire life in L’Anse au Clair, where she was known for her hard work and community involvement. She dedicated her daily life to working as a general labourer in the local fish plant. Outside of work, Mabel cherished time spent with her family and actively participated in women's group events. Her dedication to her community and family left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. 

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 11 AM at the Anglican Church in L’Anse au Clair.

The Dumaresque family extends their heartfelt thanks to the home care workers, the staff at Forteau Long Term Care and Labrador-South Health Centre, and everyone who offered support and assistance during Mabel's last weeks.
