Howard always displayed a great deal of devotion to his family and friends, especially to his beloved wife Gwen. He was also very devoted to his faith and his church, where he served as church treasurer for more than 40 years. He took immense pride in his involvement within the community and cherished his many roles which included being a cub leader, a member of the legion, a member of the John Howard Society, and serving in the Militia Reserve for 13 years. Howard also took great pride in his work as assistant treasurer for Bowaters and continued working well into his retirement years as an accountant for several more businesses.

We would like to say a special thank you to Howard’s long time physician Dr. David Coleman, and to all the staff of Western Long Term Care Home Bayside Unit for going above and beyond to make dad’s stay in long term care one filled with compassion and respect. He was treated with dignity and empathy and felt like the staff was a second family. We also would like to thank Rev. Jocelyn Cook for her warmth, friendship, and spiritual guidance, as well as his faithful friend Art Hull for his tireless companionship.
