Obituary of Marjorie MacDonald

Marjorie MacDonald (nee Lushman)

June 26. 1950 – July 13, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother Marjorie (Marge) MacDonald, on July 13, 2024, at the Health Science Center in St. John’s.

Leaving to mourn her five children, Karen (Graham), David (Corinne), Peggy (Greg), Jason (Karen) and Penny. Grandchildren, Victoria (Adam), Dylan, Rebecca, Matthew, Andew, Emily, Logan, Zachary. Great grandsons Noah, Nathan, and Hudson.  Also, her three sisters, Kitty, Jacqueline and Bernice, two brothers, Henry and Pat and her best friend Mary.  Predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years Keith, her parents Henry and Elizabeth Lushman and her sister Minnie. 

Marge’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the center of her life, she made sure every one of them felt like they had a special spot in her heart, and each felt all the love she could give. Since Keith’s passing, she has missed and mourned him, and he continued to be a big part of all her decisions and life actions.  Unfortunately, Marge suffered many ailments and suffered far more sickness than one person should.  Through all of that she was determined to live her life to the fullest and only showed strength and courage to get through it for her family.  To know her was to love her, her sassiness and personality was endearing to all. Even during her last week in the Health Science Center, she brought joy to others there.  Her loving and supportive family were a testament to the wonderful caring woman she was.  We will strive to continue to make her proud. She will live forever in our hearts.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, July 17, 2024, between 3 – 5, and 7 – 9 at St. John The Evangelist Church, Burgeo, NL.  The funeral will take place Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 2 p.m. officiated by Reverend Elsie Rose.
