Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home on July 11, 2024, Shirley Yarn (nee Lawrence), age 94.
Predeceased by her husband Merle, parents Joseph and Julia Lawrence, mother-in-law Elizabeth Reid, siblings Classie, Lillian, Vi, Lecie, Jim, Joe and Reg. Bother and sister-in-law Dr. Jim and Hazel Yarn, brother-in-law Dr. Gerry Warren.
Leaving to mourn her devoted daughter Michele Randell (Dave), sister Clarinda Nortridge, sister-in-law Nancy Warren, family Penny Colbourne (Holly and Zack), Lisa and Lloyd St. Croix (Robyn), Elizabeth and Burt Penney (Jordan and Jamie), Jodi Long (Ava, Alex and Reese), Stephen and Lynette Warren (Samatha and Nicholas), Joanne Warren and Mark Comier (Matthew, Rebecca and Daniel), Lecie Brown(Michael ,Daniel), Shirley Farrell, Arthur Farrell ,Marilyn Cancellara, as well as many other nieces and nephews and friends
Specials thanks to Doreen Bailey for her exceptional care and friendship, as well as, the staff of the Stella Bury Unit of the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home in St. John’s especially Anna.
Shirley was an avid gardener where she spent many warm summer days in her beautiful garden in Corner Brook and the cabin at Robinsons. An active supporter of the St. John Evangelist Church in Corner Brook, and as member of ACWA, she spent countless hours supporting the church’s programs in the community.
Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, Corner Brook on August 6, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Service to take place August 7th at 11:00 am in Fillatre’s Chapel with Dean Catherine Short officiating. Interment to follow Mount Patricia Cemetery.
