Obituary of Laverne Gloria Lavers

August 13, 1944 - July 23, 2024

It is with the utmost sadness the family of the Late Laverne Gloria Lavers of Port Saunders, NL.  announce her passing on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the Rufus Guincahrd Heath Care Centre, at the age of 79.

She leaves to mourn her three devoted children:  Paulette (Chris), Sherri-Lee (Trent), Michael  (Karla); only brother Lorraine Hamlyn (Kay);  three grandchildren:  Brock, Adam, Julie;  brothers-in-law:  Pius (Nona), Ed (Phyllis), Mac (Mildred), Adelor (Nita), Herb, Alfred (Sue); sisters-in-law:  Zeta (Brian), Odella, Rachel (Spencer), Doreen; a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.

Laverne is predeceased by her loving husband Norbert, parents George and Clara Hamlyn, stepfather Stanley Lavers, sisters Meta (Rendell) and Hilda (Reg).

Visitation will take place at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders, NL.

Wednesday, July 24, 2024  from 7pm - 9pm

Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 2pm - 4pm / Family Service 7pm - 9pm

Funeral Mass / Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 @ 2pm with Father Amar presiding. Interment to follow at the Sandy Cove Interfaith Cemetery.
