The family of the late Wayne Gordon Denny would like to express a sincere thank you and appreciation for all the support and kindness from relatives, friends and neighbours after the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. We appreciate your expressions of sympathy, cards, messages, flowers, food, phone calls and donations to the Palliative Care Unit Cuddle Bed Project.

We thank Dr. Whitten, Dr. Zhou, Dr. Cousins and Dr. Flemming and the Palliative Care Team for their exceptional care and compassion.

Thank you to the staff of Fillatre’s Funeral Home for their professionalism and kindness, especially to Mindy, who went above and beyond.

Wayne Gordon Denny

May 26, 1952 – August 16, 2024

Corner Brook, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wayne Gordon Denny announce his passing on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook at the age of 72 years. Wayne dearly loved his family and was truly one of the most kind and gentle souls you would ever meet. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Debbie (nee Tavenor); son Michael (Patricia) Denny; grandchildren: Kristina Denny (Kristopher Weatherall) and Matthew Denny (Angie Chia-Baxter); great-grandchildren: Eveleigh and Elijah Denny; son Mark (Tara) Major; grandchildren: Joshua and Rebecca Major; brothers: Robert (Melina) Denny and Bruce (Annette) Denny; sister Rhonda (Leonard) Mackenzie; as well as a large circle of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ronald and Marie Denny, brother Kevin Denny. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s on Wednesday, August 21 from the hours of 12-2:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel with Majors Brian and Valerie Wheeler officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Cuddle Bed Project, Palliative Care Unit, c/o Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation. The family would like to thank the awesome Doctors and nurses of the Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful care they provided.
