LAURA MARGARET O’KEEFE Port au Choix, NL 						 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Laura O’Keefe announce her passing on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband George; children: Valerie (Philip) Hoskins, St. Albans, Sandra (Ivan) Burt, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Jack Cornick (Iris), Alberta, Alma (Cameron) House, Port Saunders, Claude (Tina) Cornick, Holyrood, Gerard (Gael), Halifax, Floyd (Jeanette) and Stanley (Kim), Port au Choix; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers Gerald (Genny) Lavers, Port au Choix and Eddy (Shirley), Georgetown, Ontario; sister-in-law Dorothy Lavers, Port au Choix, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son Ronald, first husband Benedict Cornick, parents Stanley and Alma Lavers, brother Joseph, sister Veronica, brothers and sisters-in-law. The family received friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Sunday and Monday. The funeral service took place on Tuesday, June 22 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Newfoundland and Labrador Alzheimer Association.
