It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Theresa Gillis announce her peaceful passing while surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home at the age of 92 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Daniel (Diane), Eugene (Diann), Agnes (Ernest), Dominic (Edie), Hilda (Morgan), Patrick (Krista), Harold (Tanya) and Terrence (Denise); 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; many brothers and sisters, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Hugh Gillis, parents Angus Gillis and Margaret Frasier, brothers: Joe, Ernest and Frank, and sisters: Gloria, Lorraine, Loretta and Irene.

As per the families wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 2:00PM from St. Columcille Roman Catholic Church in St. Fintan’s with Father Jaison officiating. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Highlands. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Columcille Roman Catholic Parish in St. Fintan’s. Donations made via e-transfer can be sent to: columcilleparish@gmail.com

The family would like to give a special thanks to her loving caregivers on 4 North at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home. You all were like family to her during her seven-year residence. Also thank you to Chris, our rock, for your support and guidance.
