Obituary of Edward Byron Allen CARD OF THANKS

The family of the late Edward Allen would like to express thanks for the support received in recent weeks. Every phone call, message, gift of food, card, flower arrangement or donation to the WMRH Foundation have been appreciated.Thank you to our friends and family members who travelled to be here with us during this difficult time. Thanks to everyone who visited the funeral home or attended the funeral.Your support and kindness will always be remembered.

Edward Allen passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on September 18, 2024, at Western Health Palliative Care Unit. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Jessie Allen. Ed leaves behind a loving family: his wife Debbie; son Patrick; daughter Paula and son-in-law Justin Cooper. He is also survived by his brothers Gary and Murray, and sister Barbara (Jim Boutcher); brothers-in-law Jerome Power (Margaret), Kevin Power and sister-in-law Cecilia McDonald. He cherished his many nieces, nephews and a wide circle of friends and relatives who will all miss him dearly.

Ed was a natural storyteller with a great sense of humour and he brought foolishness and laughter to everyone around him. For over forty years, he dedicated his career to real estate appraisal in the Corner Brook region, leaving a lasting impact on many people. To know Ed was to love him, and his absence will be deeply felt.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Peter Callahan and his staff for their years of care, as well as the exceptional teams at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, EMT staff, and the Palliative Care Unit for their support during Ed’s final days.

Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, Corner Brook on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. A celebration of Ed’s life will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel located at 4 St. Mark’s Ave, Corner Brook, NL on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Ed’s Memory be made to WMRH Foundation.
