It is with great sadness that the families of the late Joseph Mitchell announce his passing on Friday, June 25th, 2010 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home, DVA Unit at the age of 87 years. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and a Veteran of World War II. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his loving wife, Ada Pearl Mitchell of 62 years; children: Byron (Gloria), Bruce (Marie), Paulette (Jim) Coleman and Hallett (Donna); grandchildren: Jeffrey (Regina) Mitchell, Jennifer Mitchell (Alan), Paul (Teena) Mitchell, Alison (Brent) MacLean, Alicia (Richard) Taylor, Joey (Jackie) Mitchell, Patrick Coleman, Nancy Mitchell, Gerald Coleman and Holly Mitchell; great grandchildren: Brandon, MacKenzie, Kara, Ava and Alexander; sister: Hazel Sheppard; brother: Reginald Mitchell; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by two infant children; brothers: Harry, Jim and Bert; and parents: John and Elizabeth. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling street on Saturday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 28th at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Main Street, Curling with interment to follow at Mt. Patricia cemetery. Reverend Karen Laldin officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
