It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jessie Marie Courtney announce her passing at the Calder Health Care Centre on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Jessie was predeceased by her parents Charles & Rita Courtney,her brothers Levi & Sidney and her sister Vivian. Jessie leaves to mourn her siblings: Eileen, Florence (Vernon), Maxwell (Blanche), Clayton (Carrie-lou), Audrey (Dave), Kenneth, Jerry, Mary, Robert (Norma), Christina (Mick), along with her nieces, nephews, and a large community of friends.

Jessie was 68 years of age but if you ask her, she would happily answer 19! She was always 19 years old in heart, mind and soul! Jessie love to have fun, she was playful & goofy and loved to laugh. Jessie would often dance up a storm with her sisters &brothers and anyone willing to step-er-out in the living room. Jessie’s joyful personality was infectious, and her smile was like sunshine on a cloudy day that lite up the room and lifted your spirit. Jessie’s charismatic character illuminated divine inspiration that filled our hearts!

Jessie was our angel on earth sent from God to teach & show us innocent genuine love. Jessie was a pure soul that touched our lives with many fun times of laughter as well as precious memories of childlike faith and love that our world needed. She enjoyed craft time, snack time, she loved her babydolls and butterflies and more than anything Jessie loved & cherished her family. Jessie will be dearly missed by all those who love her and she will be forever remembered for her compelling authentic personality.

The family wishes to take this opportunity to extend their gratitude to Jessie’s homecare workers, her nurses, her doctors and to all the staff for taking such good care of Jessie and for the tender compassion and love we know Jessie felt from you all. Thank you and God bless. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
