Pauline Phyllis Howell (Camp) Obituary

It is with heavy heart that we announce that on October 16, 2024, Pauline Phyllis Howell (Camp) (Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador) passed away suddenly after a brief illness. Pauline passed away in her 89th year surrounded by family at Western Memorial Hospital. She was born in 1935 in Upper Island Cove NL and spent her formative years in Whitbourne NL moving to Corner Brook at the age of 16 to pursue studies where she met the love of her life Roy.  They married in 1956 and had four children that were the light of their life.

She is survived by: her husband of 67 years Roy, her children, Todd (Barbara) Brent (Sharon) Laurie Philpott (Andrew), Peter (Sheri); her grandchildren, Anna (Abishak), Jocelyn (Matt), Scott, Bradley (Denicia), Emma, Lucas, Sahrya, Meaghan (Yannick) and Ally (Kyle); her great grandchildren, Maggie and Audrey and her siblings, Dr. Bill Camp (Marilyn) and in-laws Jean Howell, Dorothy Kennedy, Glenda and John Langer.

Pauline was predeceased by: her Father and Mother Rev. George Camp and Ella Camp; her siblings, Harry Camp (Emily), Norma Gray (Cliff) and Edna Humber (Ray), Margaret House (Ron House) and (Jack King) and Dorothy Hunt (Sandy). Her Mother and Father in-law Claude and Irene Howell. In laws Woodrow and Eileen Howell, Max and Doris Howell, Jim and Jean Jewer, Brother-in-law Ron Howell.  Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a large circle of close friends who all loved her dearly.

Pauline was an active member of the Humber United Church Women’s group. She volunteered with the local food bank and the school breakfast program.  She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed knitting, baking and the many wonderful trips to their cabin at Crabbes River. She also loved shopping with her daughter Laurie. Pauline and Roy were the true meaning of a wonderful marriage and an inspiration to us all.

Special thanks to family and friends who have reached out and to Rev. Jocelyn Cook and the staff at the ICU and Emergency department at WMRH.

Feel free to leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Pauline Howell to pay them a last tribute. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to your local Food Bank or Humber United Church; flowers also graciously accepted.
