It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gordon Savoury announce his passing at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on Tuesday, June 29th, 2010 at the age of 71 years. He was predeceased by his mother Lena; father George; brother Frank, and sister Jean Brake. He leaves to mourn brother Carl (Mabel); sister-in-law Ethel; brother-in-law Don Brake; special friends Florence (Kevin) Reid, their son Russell and daughter Samantha from Sydney, NS, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends visited Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques on Wednesday and Thursday. The Funeral Service took place at St. James Anglican Church on Friday, July 2nd at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Hannah Dicks officiating. Interment followed at Barachois Hill Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. James Church Piano Fund.
