SELBY FORD JANES Corner Brook, NL October 5, 1925 - June 30, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Selby Ford Janes announce his passing on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 63 years Bertha (Nee Reid); children: Doris (Ches), Iris (Albert), Lillian (Wayne), Vivian (Everett), Selby (Joy) and Ivan (Evelyn); 9 grandchildren: Shawn, Jason, Sheri Ann, Nancy, Brenda, Jessica, Nicole, Graham and Sheldon; 5 great-grandchildren: Brianna, Lucy, Sommer, Rebecca and Whatt; brothers: Aubrey (Bonnie), Oliver and Lloyd; sister Joan (Clayton), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Edwin, mother Amelia Maud, sisters Hilda and Ethel, brothers Baxter, Doyle, Chesley, Everett and Doug. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 2 at 2:00 p.m. from the West Side Pentecostal Tabernacle, Elizabeth Street with Pastor Calvin Andrews officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
