Melvin Gary Barrett
August 11, 1954 – October 24, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melvin Gary Barrett announce his passing on October 24, 2024, at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in his 70^th year.

Left to mourn is his sister Maunda (Ross); nephews and niece Andrew (Stephanie), Mitchell (Sarah), Heidi (Jamie) and families.

Melvin was predeceased by his parents Baxter and Levinia; sister Wavey; and Barbara.

The family would like to thank the Xavier House in Corner Brook for their care and compassion, as well as the staff at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre.

A visitation will be held for family and friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Monday, October 28 from the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 pm followed by a funeral service on Tuesday, October 29 at 1:00 pm with Major Bingle officiating. An interment will be taking place at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery (Salvation Army Section), Wight’s Road, Deer Lake. In lieu of flowers kindly donate to the Janeway Foundation.
